It's so refreshing not having that narrator at the beginning for no reason. At least it's at some relevant part. Also, that ending, I could watch that ending forever.

huh? you think Noriko Hidaka is boring? one of her most famous roles was Kikyou from Inuyasha. lady's been acting in anime since the mid 1980's. have you ever watched 'My Neighbor Totoro'? she played the older sister Satsuki Kusakabe. the lady's got a very extensive resume, look her up sometime.

He never said anything about the VA being bad. Considering the competition, anyone who does manage to be a VA in Japan has to be among the best.

What he complained about is having the same repetitive dialogue at the start of every episode for 16 episodes. At this point who doesn't know what they call communication disorder is. So yeah understandable if he finds it annoying. I personally don't mind it.

mhm, there's a point to that i guess. but most shows that do some form of narrator 'opening' or 'intro' do repeat it. i know CONAN *case closed* repeats stuff for MANY episodes... i'm presently on episode 433 or 34 of a slow marathon since March this year... in their intros... it's always Conan saying 'something something something' ... and ending with 'meitante Conan'... (or however it's pronounced) :/

i just find Ms. NH's voice to be soothing and enjoyable whenever she speaks in Komi-san. so i can't understand why anybody would find it boring at all.

of course, there's other shows that eventually introduce the narrator as a key-supporting character. like 'To YourEternity' and 'LaidBackCamping'... it is like those shows are stories being told by that character to the audience.

Most people have it as one of their all time favorite, plus because it is one of the first anime they watched since it came out a decade ago, it has even more sentimental value. Like even 15 years from now if you see a bald character in a red cape punching it would remind you of OPM. As you said code geass failed to make much of an impression on you thats why you can't recollect most of it to see the reference right away, but for those who are fans of the anime it was a happy moment to see Nakanaka chan cosplay Lelouche. I can see why even in the anime the boys voted her the first in their fantasies. She is the type of ideal girl that an otaku would wish for IRL.

Yea its my all time fav as well. its just that when you watch anime for years the new stuff replaces the old. You'll understand some years later. I was only focused on the present anime (i.e komi san) Moreover I was idk 13 & I'm not repeat-ish. I don't watch an anime twice so there's that. But yea once I saw nakanaka portraying lelouch I instantly remembered. My brain could only store so much. I wasn't born with a 100 tb hard drive lol. And yea being a woman myself, nakanaka is someone I'd have instantly befriended during my school years. We'd hung out and talk about anime and manga all the time

Also, don't underestimate the brain, that thing is crazy complicated, we have created so many things computers, satellites, rockets etc. We could create all of it only because of our brain, it is fair to say that the human brain created everything we have, if we can unlock all the mysteries of the brain, and understand it well enough to create something similar to it, we would have become gods.
Isn't the idea of machines becoming self aware leading to them becoming op and creating new machines themselves to achieve world domination a very popular scenario. Us completely understanding the working of our own brain is groundbreaking at that level for us humans.
